PROGRESS UPDATE

  • We have very exciting news! After nine long months of waiting, we finally received our tax-exempt status from the IRS. This is a huge answer to prayer, as it was the final hurdle toward becoming an officially recognized nonprofit.
  • Over the last several weeks, we have been working on establishing a social media presence. You can now find us on Facebook and Instagram. Like and follow for frequent updates!
  • In May, we will be hosting our first retreat for a missionary family. We are delighted to finally begin the ministry we have spent so much time preparing for! Pray with us as we seek to provide restorative rest and rejuvenation for our guests.
  • We are also in the process of securing a semi-permanent hosting facility. Please pray for wisdom and direction as we evaluate the pros and cons of leasing versus buying. We hope to avoid short-term rentals and have our own dedicated space where quality, comfort, and schedule are all consistent.

The Sabbath Principle: Why Rest is a Non-Negotiable for Longevity

In today’s fast-paced world, rest is often seen as a luxury, but God designed it as a necessity. From the beginning, rest was part of creation: “On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work” (Genesis 2:2, NLT). If the Creator Himself took time to rest, how much more do we need it?

Why Sabbath Matters

  1. Rest is a Command, Not a Suggestion – The fourth commandment instructs us to “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy” (Exodus 20:8). This wasn’t about legalism but about honoring God and maintaining well-being.
  2. Jesus Modeled Rest – Mark 6:31 records Jesus telling His disciples, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Even in ministry, Jesus prioritized time away.
  3. Ignoring Sabbath Leads to Burnout – Without intentional rest, we eventually break down. Psalm 127:2 warns, “In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for He grants sleep to those He loves.”

How to Incorporate Sabbath into Your Life

  • Set Aside Dedicated Rest Time – Whether a full day or specific hours, protect time for worship, reflection, and renewal.
  • Trust God with Your Work – Taking a break requires faith that God will sustain you (Matthew 6:25-34).
  • Engage in Restorative Practices – Spend time in prayer, nature, and with loved ones.

Rest is not unproductive—it’s an act of obedience and trust in God’s provision.

Book of the week

Living Fearless by Jamie Winship is a transformative book about overcoming fear and embracing one’s true identity in Christ. Drawing from his experiences in high-risk conflict zones, Winship shares how fear often distorts our perception of ourselves and God, keeping us from living in the fullness of His purpose. Through powerful storytelling and biblical insights, he teaches readers how to hear God’s voice, step into their God-given identity, and live with bold faith. The book challenges believers to let go of false identities shaped by fear and instead walk in the freedom and peace that comes from knowing who they truly are in Christ.
