PROGRESS UPDATE
- Here we go! We will be hosting our first missionary couple here in our studio in just a few weeks! Please pray for wisdom as we finalize details and that God would really use us in an effective way as we minister to them.
- We are still networking and trying to spread the word about Rock 61:2, looking specifically for funding to sustain the organization. We would love it if you would share our ministry with your friends, your pastor, your small group, your business partners, fishing buddies, etc.
- We will be returning to Arizona for a few days in November to attend Mission Connexion Southwest. We believe this will be a great opportunity to meet lots of people who are (or want to be) directly involved in missions.
- Please keep our family in your prayers as we learn to juggle ministry responsibilities and homeschooling.
The Role of Community: Why You Can’t Prevent Burnout Alone
Burnout often leads to isolation, but God designed us for community. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, “Two are better than one… If either of them falls, one can help the other up.” A strong support system is not just beneficial—it’s essential for long-term well-being.
Why Isolation Fuels Burnout
- Lack of Encouragement – Hebrews 10:25 urges believers to meet together for encouragement. When we withdraw, we lose a vital source of strength.
- No One to Share the Burden – Galatians 6:2 tells us to “carry each other’s burdens.” When we try to do everything alone, we carry more than we were meant to bear.
- Loss of Perspective – A trusted friend or mentor can speak truth into our lives when we are too weary to see clearly (Proverbs 27:17).
How to Cultivate Community for Burnout Prevention
- Stay Connected to Fellow Believers – Make time for fellowship, accountability, and prayer with trusted friends.
- Be Honest About Your Struggles – Don’t pretend to be okay if you’re not. Vulnerability leads to deeper support.
- Invite Others Into Your Life Regularly – Isolation is a slow killer. Keep relationships strong before burnout strikes.
God created us for relationships. When we embrace biblical community, we gain the strength to persevere through life’s challenges.
