PROGRESS UPDATE

  • It’s happening! We have our first missionary couple here right now. We are enjoying our time with them and pray it will be a refreshing time of rest for them.
  • Pray that we are able to network effectively and make good connections in November as we attend Mission Connexion Southwest. We believe this will be a great opportunity to meet lots of people who are (or want to be) directly involved in missions.
  • Pray that God gets the glory as we serve His servants. We are delighted to be part of what He is doing!

Refueling the Fire: Practical Steps to Recharge Your Mind, Body, and Spirit

Burnout drains passion, energy, and purpose. But God specializes in restoration. Isaiah 40:31 promises, “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” If you feel like the fire is burning low, it’s time to refuel.

Signs You Need Spiritual, Mental, or Physical Renewal

  1. Lack of Joy in Ministry or Daily Life – If everything feels like an obligation, it’s a sign you need renewal (Psalm 51:12).
  2. Constant Fatigue and Brain Fog – Your body and mind need rest to function properly. Even Elijah needed sleep and food before he could hear from God (1 Kings 19:5-8).
  3. Feeling Spiritually Distant – When burnout sets in, our connection with God can feel distant. James 4:8 reminds us, “Come near to God and He will come near to you.”

Practical Steps to Refuel

  • Prioritize Rest and Recreation – Sabbath is not optional; it’s necessary for renewal (Exodus 20:8-11).
  • Engage in Soul-Filling Activities – Worship, prayer, and time in nature can refresh your spirit.
  • Seek Encouragement from Others – Surround yourself with people who lift you up in faith.

God doesn’t just want us to survive—He wants us to thrive. When we take steps to refuel, we allow Him to restore our strength for the road ahead.

Practicing the Way: Be with Jesus. Become like him. Do as he did. by John Mark Comer is a modern guide to Christian discipleship / spiritual formation. It shows how following Jesus is more than belief—it’s apprenticing with him, reshaping how you live through practices that counter the pull of a hurried, distracted culture.

Something cool about Costa Rica

Many rural bridges, called Bailey bridges, are temporary structures that have become permanent, making for some nerve-wracking crossings.
